Oh Mexico

...Oh Mexico...

...One of the Blomgren family goals set forth in Jan. 2015 was a family vacation for just the five of us...somewhere we could get away and spend time without the worries of daily life, laundry, cooking, etc...

...so we set out to find the best family friendly all inclusive that was close enough to travel on a direct flight...and we chose Iberostar Cancun...we were able to check it out while there in Jan and we packed up early the morning of April 26th and jumped in a car and headed to the airport for our trip to Mexico...
...our little world travelers jumped out of bed at 3:50am, starting chanting 'going to Mexico', threw on their shoes and hit the door with their backpacks in hand and hats on their heads...
...traveling with these three isn't as scary as it looks...and Paxton fell asleep in Daddy's arms on this flight shortly after takeoff...

...but one good flight down and safely in Mexico...and Momma wasn't interested in waiting as long as it took for this shuttle...there is only so much good behavior stored up behind those sweet little smiles...

...but the smiles were plentiful from the moment we arrived....smoothies for everyone and daily snacks of hot dogs and cheeseburgers were a family favorite...

...being able to share such a wonderful place with the kiddos was probably one of Mom and Dad's favorite parts of the trip...

...and another one of the best parts was the lack of a daily agenda, and mom and dad keeping our phones off except to take pictures...
...it is amazing the memories we made, the conversations we shared and the smiles we saw just be being so present...
...and another favorite of Momma's is dressing these little munchkins up...from their swimsuits to their dress up clothes...and some like it more than others...

...namely my little ham....she is as dramatic as they come...
...and as dramatic as she is, she is cautious...but not my first born, he is fearless when it comes to animals and thrill seeking...
...these two shared some tender moments through out the trip....tons of disagreements too...but lots of tender moments and sweet playing...

...we had some fun downtown, and got the kids a little taste of the culture...

...but the real memories were made on this deck...we had a hot tub on the patio and we spent time in it daily...we filled it with sand logged toys, ate snacks, waited out nap times and just enjoyed life on the balcony...
...and nights out to dinner were always followed by the show in the theater in the hotel...the shows started nightly with a kids program and dancing on the stage....and then had different themes like magic, folk dancing, etc...it was a great place to end the evenings and pushed our schedules to 10pm bed times and late 8am mornings...

...and we anticipated this trip in our house for months...we made a 60 day countdown and we longed for the vacation to Mexico...but in the blink of an eye, we were boarding a plane home for the US...
...our tummies full, our hearts overflowing, but our bodies all a little worn out...

...because vacations with three littles isn't the R&R it once was in our lives...but it is more fufilling and rewarding than I could have imagined...

...and so now we will begin thinking, saving and planning for our next family getaway...

...but until then, this party of five is relishing in the memories and enjoying sweet, sweet dreams...
