Happy Birthday to you...
...it is hard to believe that three years of parenthood have come and gone, not quite in the snap of a finger, because there are plenty of moments over the last three years that are forever etched in my brain, but it has most definitly gone quickly...and to see my little man grow from this...
...sleepy little love bug...
...who didn't sleep much the first few weeks but was through the night at 9 weeks...
...to this love bug that was early to walk and early to talk...
...and always big on smiles and adventures...
...this was the perfect Birthday present from Mommy and Daddy for a boy that has loved airplanes as long as he could talk and walk...
...and Chase was able to check it all out before and after the flight and talk with our other pilot, Mr.Matt...
...and the joke was on me when we realized that Chase wouldn't fit up front...but it wasn't as bad as you might think...and we were locked in so it was safe...enough...
...it wasn't a bad way to spend a morning...and seeing your school from the air is surely something to talk about come Monday morning...
...and then it was time from Grandma and Poppy to arrive...and that always means presents and fun...
...this Birthday we decided to do the party somewhere other than the house and Chase had requested a specific location for months before...I tried to change his mind and offer up other places but he was set on Dream Play Recreation...a store that has trampolines, swing sets and basketball goals set up and able for play on them all...so we went and checked it out together...and he told me, yet again, 'this is what I want, peeeaaassseee!'...so one month later, when we pulled up on party day...after the friends had been invited, the cupcakes picked up, and the party clothes on...he yelled, 'Yay, yay, My Birthday Party'...literally yelled it out loud in the car...and that will bring a smile to anyone's face...
...this is the first year he has requested friends by name and greeted them upon their arrival...and 'Cware' is always requested...
...and Ava is starting to greet her friends too...in her own way which right now includes a big wave and sometimes, Hewwwo!...
...and then it was playtime...which was a favorite for everyone...
...even the Daddy's and Papa's...and the Grandma's got some snuggle time with the littlest friends...
...and the conversations almost always started with, 'Today is my Burfday!! and I am this many (holding up three fingers)!!...
...and sandwiches were followed by cupcakes with amazingly well mannered and quiet kiddos...
...and then home to open presents...and he has been talking about the day ever since...Birthday's are a big deal in this house...as they should be...because we will always be eager to celebrate the day we were blessed with our first born...
Chase you make us very happy and very proud daily...We love you dearly...Happy Birthday Buddy!

Wish we were close enough to come to the party. What a great blog post. We love you, sweet Chase!!!! Happy birthday!!!
