...Florida 2013...

This Florida trip was long overdue and much anticipated...in all of Ava's 20 months of life, she had never been to Bambi's house...and never seen the beaches of Bradenton or boated the waters of Sarasota Bay...and that is just unacceptable in this family...

...so early in the year, we booked our trip and have been getting excited about it ever since...new swimsuits were ordered, suitcases were packed with clothes, toys and sound machines and we were ready for the salt air...

...but travel days with two toddlers can put fear in even the fearless...but not to worry...these two had their game faces on and definitely shielded the other passengers from 'what could have been'...

...and it wasn't long after that we were settling into Bambi and Coley Pop's house...
...this big swing in the front yard brought some of the biggest smiles I have seen in all of her 20 months...
...and this little bike is another favorite at Bambi's...and it took them less than 10 minutes to find both of these...

...this bike has been a favorite for years...in fact this is Chase on it in Jan. 2011 at only 16 months...
...and there are lots of other fun things about Bambi's house that didn't take long to explore...

...a convertible that holds a car seat is pretty exciting for this 3 year old...he spent every ride in it and was quick to wave to us in route...

...the beach was another favorite for both of them...they weren't quite sure at first but they latched on to it so quickly, we had to visit more than once while we were in town...

...sand angels are much better than snow angels...unless you are the mommy or daddy doing the cleaning...

...and the beach days ended with dips in Bambi and Coley Pop's swimming pool and Ava's first big jumps in the water, head dunking and all...she is totally in a fearless stage...

...and per Chase's numerous requests...we decided to rent a boat and head out on the water...
...and we spotted some dolphin, let most everyone get a turn behind the wheel and just enjoyed the day...

...and we discovered a fun, new restaurant that has it's own beach and waterfront view and is very family friendly...although I am not sure this is what they meant...children at the bar...

...and we spent the rest of the time cozied up to Bambi's kitchen, having snacks, smelling the sweet smells of Bambi's awesome cooking and talking about airplanes and boats....
...and speaking of airplanes, watching fighter jets fly around on the computer with Coley Pop is so much fun...
...and Chase conquered his first roll away bed on the trip, Ava got the beach and everything Florida has to offer...it was relaxing, much needed, and the way we would spend most days if we could...

...and this is only the first few days of the trip...more to come...

...thank you Bambi and Coley Pop for all you do to make us feel so welcome, so well fed and overall pampered...we can't wait to come back again soon...Love you so much...
