...Sweet, Sweet Six...
...Ava Leanne has been talking about her birthday for months...literally months....certainly longer than any of them have ever talked about a Birthday...and this one is my strongest willed, most decisive and most likely to be a leader of leaders....so when she said she wanted a mermaid pool party months in advance, I knew there was no changing her mind...
...and birthdays in this house are celebrated for the month...especially in August when we have three....
...so gifts began arriving early, outings were planned and some special moments were enjoyed in Sweet Ava's honor...like lunch with Grammie and Mommy at American Girl to celebrate...
...and birthdays bring more than just grandparents....they also bring great grandparents in from Indiana and that means fun and presents for everyone...

...like lunches out...dinners too...and sharing stories.... ...the first gift was her new pink guitar....and she seemed like a natural from the start...time will tell.... |

...and when Grandma's are around on a birthday month...they hit the mall....
...and then it was my girls time to party....and she planned every detail...she knew that she wanted some close friends, the ones she has known for years with siblings to play with her brothers...she has the kindest heart to always think about her brothers in every one of her plans....
...which ended up making her day a little one sided on the boy side...but with her bestie and her baby bro she was as happy as she could be....
...and they put on a cheerleading show for us afterwards....
...best friend necklaces certainly take me back...sort of like summer swimming birthday parties and the love of a best friend....she's got a lot of her momma in her...
...and August is also Marley's month...and she never gets left out...Daddy always makes sure each of his girls get celebrated....

...Ava's betsie's little bro is quickly becoming Paxton's fave...they are in the same class together and love their older girl siblings similarly....and also share a love for eating....
...speaking of eating...Aunt Al made the long drive to celebrate Ava and ended up serving pizza to all the littles....don't let the picture fool you...she was the reason alone that every kiddo was smiling and full....
...Birthday's and visits from Grandma Erma and Poppy sure make August special...
...and it is crazy how she is growing into such a wonderful little lady...she reminds me of her Daddy in so many ways, like her unequivocal love of Marley, but shares so many things with Momma...like her love of arts and crafts at a young age....her love of playing school, going to school and all things school....her cautious nature when meeting people, whether for the first time or not...her loyalty to those closest....and her furious love of family...and she is uniquely special in her natural athleticism...her strong will....her love of wearing her hair down ....and her love of all things cooking and baking....
...oh Ava...you may never know what it is like for us to have one wonderful daughter...the perfect combination of Mom and Dad and truly the sparkle in our eyes...
