...July Catch Up...

...It took a while to get life back in order after a seven day vacation to the East Coast...and the blog was no different...we had some relaxing times but the blog, among many other things, has been a bit neglected...

...but we as Mommies spend lots of time beating ourselves up about the areas we are falling short...because although we talk about it all the time...this elusive word balance...from work to life to everything else...we are looking for balance...but it is no part of my life at this stage...fun, exciting, exhausting, rewarding, challenging, YES, but not balanced...nope, that's not even one I'm striving for right now...

...but that's ok...because my babes are growing, developing and having a great time along the way...and that's what matters...

...like my little princess who now climbs all the playground structures in the elementary playground...and she isn't even two...

...she is a daredevil...much less reserved than my first born around new things...

...but he is willing to show her all of the places he has mastered...but these holding hands make me nervous...they usually lead her somewhere she isn't supposed to be...

...we spent a lot of time over the last month on the playground since Daddy's had some work travel and I don't brave the pool alone...plus the playground means we can get some exercise for this one too...

...although she does enjoy a nice dip in the pool...

...and our return from Maine meant the new couch arrived...

...and we went couch shopping for months...and those were some stories...while I believe my kids are fairly well behaved...something in a furniture store brings out their wild side...when we finally decided on the couch below, we were filling out the final paperwork as I noticed Chase shoeless out of the corner of my eye bouncing high in the air while yelling Mommy at the top of his lungs between a bed and a sectional...and my little Princess was showing off her belly with her dress pulled up, hundreds of crayons strewn around her and the crayon basket upside down on her head as her 'princess crown'...and this was in the span of three and a half minutes...

...but we are all happy with the final product...it was worth all the looking to find a comfy spot where we all rest at the end of the day...

...we've also got to spend a little time out at the river...it has been a very cool summer here so we have spent some serious time in the hot tub...

...which is actually the perfect size for them...Mommy and Daddy can actually sit on the side of the water and talk while they play...it only took three and a half years to have a day time conversation again...

...and getting life back in order involved a trip to the dentist...this is Chase's second time now and he acts like a regular...he has perfect teeth and basks in the compliments the whole time he is there...

...and we caught a rainbow...

...and a Cardinals Game...

...which resulted in a win complete with fireworks...

...just what Chase had hoped for on his big game out...each kiddo gets a game of their own this season with Mommy and Daddy...the one on one time is great and I'm already excited for Ava's game...

...and we got a weekend visit from Uncle Chad since we were on the way to his work meeting...

...Chase loves Uncle Chad's visits as much as Daddy does, so the two of them get very excited before he arrives...they get out the remote control airplanes, visit the hobby shop and talk about the visit in anticipation...

...and the big boys got to catch a Cards game and then spend the rest of the time lounging with all of us...

...and as I look back on the month and realize how many memories revolve around meals...it is no wonder working out seems like a futile effort...

...regardless, the Japanese steak house was a fun treat a few weeks ago...

...as was having lunch on the weekend in Daddy's conference room...Ava's just as excited about Daddy's work as Chase is...the love to see the hairpanes...
...and this weekend wrapped up with a lazy, cloudy Sunday...which was the perfect time to finally learn how to drive the remote control boat...
...and he is doing great with it...

...but the real story with him and the pool is the way he is swimming...I need to upload a video but he has graduated from swimming with a life jacket 100% of the time, to swimming across the pool, totally on his own...with his face in the water!...it's remarkable to watch him learn and I am still in shock when I see his tiny three year old body swimming on his own...he's my little fish...

...and I am re-energized to keep the blog up again...balanced, ha!...but with renewed focus on the blog at least...because we have lots of fun on the horizon...
