...Happy Birthday to you...
...The birthdays in this house come fast and furious...Daddy starts the party in July, we knock out Mommy, Marley and Ava in August and then Chase in October (which he keeps asking, why is my birthday so far away from everyone else's?)...which brings us to currently celebrating the little girl who one year ago looked like this...
...and woke up on August 10th, 2013 looking like this...
...bright blue eyed, smiley and ready to open a present with Daddy before he took off for Germany...
...and even though Daddy had to leave on her Birthday...she got some snuggles in and then had friends over to swim...and they brought party hats and princess plates to make your average morning a real party...
...and then we packed up the whole family for an afternoon at Gramma and Papa's to feast, relax and enjoy some cake...

...and Gramma's house is a great place to go and get pampered....which is just what we did...
...even though he knew it wasn't his Birthday...Chase has been very excited to celebrate Ava's this year...
...and my princess was happy to get a few different pairs of boots for her Birthday...everyone knew of her love of the infamous Thomas Train boots...
...and Mommy got an awesome new lighthouse all the way from Maine...something I wanted for poolside but this is too nice...I may not be able to let it get rained on...
...and Ava got a chance to get into the present opening...but Bro Bro is never far behind...
...and the party continued all throughout the week with Daddy coming home and preparations for Ava's actual Birthday party...
...starting with the arrival of Great Grandma and Poppy...who always come bearing gifts...
...and come ready for a trip to Toys R Us as soon as they arrive...
...and this one quickly snuggled up to her Poppy...rumor is Ava and I are very similar...
...she spent a few mornings waking up this way...she rises a little slower than her brother who always wakes with a story to tell...
...but he got her going quick enough to help with the party preparations...
...popsicle breaks and chats with Papa are a perfect pre-party ritual...
...as is changing into your party clothes...which literally takes an army when it comes to Chase...are all little boys so stubborn to change clothes?!!?...
...he tells me at least once a week that it is 'PJ Day' at school which has only happened twice for the record...but he tries to convince me almost daily just so that he doesn't have to change clothes...
...and then it was time to pull the cake from the fridge and start playing with friends...
...it was a little chilly for the pool party as originally planned but with different pools you could take a warm up break between dips...
...and nothing warms you up like some good old sugar...
...she managed to blow out two of the three candles and the last one almost got us...but we got it first!...
...and then once they were all hopped up on sugar, it was time to play again...and this time the Mommies gave up on yet another outfit change...something about let the kids be kids was uttered and we sat back and caught up a little ourselves...which makes for a nice time for all...
...Clare is at the perfect age between Chase and Ava so sometimes she is running from Chase and others I find her the subject of Ava's attention...
...this one is really mastering the big boy bike...although I'm not sure this proper biking attire...unless you are taking quick dips in between pedals...
...speaking of pedaling, I think Gianna and Chase wore down some spots in the concrete with their biking in circles over and over until they were two red faced, giggling babes in the moonlight....and Gianna got a little extra help from the Birthday girl....
...all decked out in her brand new Princess Chair and her fourth outfit of the day...
...and then it was time for the last round of presents and clean up...the back pack was a huge hit...see if you can spot the dancing feet once she put it on...
...and a little help from bro bro unlocked a new Doc Mcstuffins Doctor kit that was a favorite for both of them...
...Papa and Daddy both got checkups, and Papa was told after a look in the ears, 'it doesn't look so good Papa'...hilarious....
...but Daddy was prescribed a shot!...the doctor told him to get ready but it surely wouldn't hurt a bit...
...although Daddy didn't agree...
...this picture kills me, although it is all fun and games until they remember this when I am alone with them at the real doctor getting a real shot...
...and like all good fun...the Birthday celebrating had to come to an end...so everyone worked together to get the house back in order and then we did some swimming to get our exercise and relax...
...they do both very well...
...thank you Grandma and Poppy for making the long drive to see us and celebrate...we love you...
...Sweet Ava, you have been such a blessing to us for two wonderful years...your zest for life and your independent spirit are both fun and funny and I look so forward to watching you develop into a little girl...
...we love you dearly sweet princess, Happy 2nd Birthday...

Aw! Happy 2nd, Ava! :)
