...Time Out...
...The purpose of this blog is to recount the beautiful memories of childhood for my children when they are older...something for them to look through with smiles, laughs and the occasional sentimental moments...so I struggled with how to cover a topic that seems so upsetting...so heart wrenching...but yet it is a piece of their childhood that having them forget would be equally upsetting...so ironically, I thought through my some of my recent conversations with Uncle Tobie and drew my inspiration from his positivity...
...Unfortunately we lost Uncle Tobie last week here on Earth and while my children's exposure to him was short, I hope that they will have some memories that can live on within them...
...you see, he was Kirk's only family that lived here in our area, Uncle Tobie and Aunt Aly Pally and cousin Barrett, so we have been spending time with them since the first few weeks I met Kirk...in fact, they were the first family to meet me...to be able to spread the word on Kirk's new 'girlfriend' in only the way the Snyder family spreads the word...fast and furious...and Kirk has fond memories of their home as a welcome break from college life...so we have definitely shared some good times, good foods, and some good laughs...

...but when I saw Tobie with his own Grandchildren and our newborn babies...that is when I saw what a true gentleman he really was...you see not all grandpa's run to hold the tiny, snotty, crying little infants...but Uncle Tobie always would...in fact, he would ask for it!...this is him with Chase as a newborn...
...and kiddos, your Great Uncle Tobie never missed a chance to celebrate with you all...like a Baptism or a birthday...
...or a chance to meet up in Grafton...one of our favorite spots...
...and speaking of celebrating, he spent a lot of time at the Blomgren Bird Bashes...
...and then gathering that evening for a bird cook and leftover feast...
...and while we were given a little time to say the things you don't want left unsaid, there is never enough time to tell someone what they mean to you...
...like what Tobie and Al taught us together about what a great marriage looks like...
...but Kirk was able to share with him on a phone call recently that he thought Tobie was a true man and exemplified what that meant...he really was a role model for Kirk in being a good man of faith, good husband and father and a good friend...
...we will miss you dearly Uncle Tobie but in your wise words, we will try to focus on the positive and we will say a toast and celebrate your wonderful life here on Earth and wait for the day when we meet again...
...we love you Tobie...
