...Christmas Catch up...

...Well the big day has come and gone but I can't begin to get into the celebrations surrounding the birth of baby Jesus...not until we get caught up on all the fun December had to offer...

...and December has all of the chaos of holiday parties, late evening events, visits to Santa, etc....which make me long for some moments together with my little family without the stress of addressing another holiday card, putting up another decoration, or cooking another dish...so the excitement of Christmas is about the holiday but also about getting to spend some quality time with them without schedules, plans or babysitters...

...and who wouldn't want a few extra minutes with these two...

...they were pretty excited about new dress up outfits sent from Grandma and Poppy...

...and about the new train under the front Christmas tree...we went out and bought this together right after Thanksgiving and they have been surprisingly good with it...although it has definitely derailed a time or two...
...and we got together for an impromptu photo for Grandma and Papa's holiday card...and while this one wasn't the final...I thought it was a pretty cute contender...

...and my little ones got to go to the office for the annual food day that comes on a Friday in December...and feast we did!...they are getting really used to going to the office for some fun and feasting...in fact, during this visit, Chase pondered at the office meeting board, 'Mommy, what do you do all day here anyway?' much to many of my co-workers amusement...

...and December also brought more of session one of basketball...although Chase is now a scoring machine...some days it is more about hanging out with buddy Carter than winning the game...

...but Coach Matt was great, and we are signed up for the second session starting in Jan...and December brought more snow this year than normal...and my little ones feel the same way about snow as Mommy and Daddy...Chase wakes us up yelling, 'Mommy, Daddy, snow, snow, snow, yay, wake up!'
...and most of the snow came on the weekends which was nice...just like donuts in the Church after Sunday School are so nice...
...and like snuggling on the couch with Daddy is so nice...
...these two have been doing some real bonding over Dolphins games lately...Chase understands the downs, offense and defense, the number of points per score and has been known to call out plays to us lately if we aren't paying attention...

...we also snuck in another visit with Santa...this time at the Butterfly house...and they got to explain the Battleship and Toy Doggie that they have been longing for...
...and we also discovered kids night at Sybergs and Silly Jilly the balloon artist...and I'm not big on balloons but this woman has serious talent...

...and then we got another weekend snow...this one was a big wet one, perfect for snowmen and...
...sledding...

...and we all got into it this year...

...note to self...sledding prior to Basketball may be a little much for all of us...we about fell asleep mid game...which doesn't lend itself to much scoring...but it was the final game of the season so we trekked through the snow, put on our game faces and earned our medals...

...and then were able to get out to our Church's Christmas tree lot which is a family tradition...like bringing Marley and taking the 'just purchased' tree picture...and it never disappoints..this 10 foot tree has been a real beauty...
..and in the meantime, we got the lights out in front on the new evergreens...and despite a few Griswold moments with blown fuses...we have loved the lights...
...they always look so pretty in the snow...

...and the tree finally dried in the garage enough for us to bring it in and decorate it...can you tell it was a Sunday?!?...

...and we got an awesome new garland hanger from Bambi...it helped complete the look...
...and now we were finally ready to kick back and celebrate the blessings of the season...

...and just looking back at our month makes me understand why multiple times I have told Kirk, I am just so tired right now, I can't figure it out...

...but it is all worth it...I'm continually humbled by the blessings the Lord has given me and look forward to updating our little families celebration of the birth of his only Son...

...from our home to yours, Merry Christmas...
