...summer fun...

...this summer, like others, has been full of sunshine, smiles and plenty of water...

...and this little dude is coming into his own on the water...

...he knows what he can touch, and what he can't...he loves to drive just like his siblings and is right at home on the water...
...he is also right at home at the gym so he was excited when he got his first birthday party invite and it was at the gym...he told me that he 'goes gym wif gwammie...and Papa stays at home'...which I actually think is fairly accurate...
...he also has had some fun with playdates...like when Alex Metz came over...
...and while he hasn't gone to school or been around many kiddos in his 2.5 years...my youngest is a a quick friend to others and a bit of a clown...
...he loved playing wif Awex...

...this particular evening on the water called for a pit stop at the car before bed...out kiddos have just as much fun on Grafton as we do...
...each year we set out goals for ourselves...and after much discussion in January...Chase and Ava determined that they wanted to try their hands at sales...so they put down the goal of the year was to create a lemonade stand...and they have been asking for quite a while...so on a July morning the Blomgren Pit Stop of Lemonade was born...
...and this crew did well...they each had a job...Paxton yelled Lemmmnaaade and jumped up and down...Ava delivered the product and Chase was the money man...I've got to say that they were quite a team...and sold their pitcher in less than an hour...thankfully...it was a hot one!...

...we also spent some time indoors this summer thus far...between record rains and a long fourth of July weekend full of clouds...we took advantage of some real play time...

...the kids are in a great age to play...like Lincoln Logs on this day where we competed for the biggest house...and most structurally sound...since Daddy was up for knocking them down if they weren't sturdy enough...
...and playing at the lanes...
...and playing together...
...and playing silly is one they have perfected...
....we spent the fourth watching fireworks with the Tverslands...
...and Grammie and Papa before they left for Maine...
...and we kept a little of the Maine spirit here even after they left...

...we've played at parks...

...and with our recipes...
...looking at these pictures...we've really had some fun...from the simplest things like a trip to the mall...we've taken advantage of the time...and the opportunities...dare I say I'm getting better at slowing down...yeah, probably not...but maybe better on Friday mornings at slowing down...so 1/14th of the week at least...

...we also slowed down to enjoy a country fair...Kirk and I love a good fair so we got ambitious on a Saturday night and made some plans to head to the middle of Illinois for a fair complete with a train Exhibit...

...and plenty of rides...
...but Paxton needed a parent on most rides due to his height...
...which made for some moments of parental regret in the fair planning department...in all fairness..more me than Daddy but regret nonetheless...

...and we finished it off with a game...this little princess is an excellent dart thrower...who knew...
...and I've mentioned storms...they have been terrible lately...and my boys struggle to sleep through a storm...especially my oldest...the first clap of thunder or flash of lightening and he is in our room...and my sweet Ava belle always tells me...nope, didn't even hear it Momma...but these boys keep growing...and the bed does not...Mother Nature has wrecked some havoc on the restfulness of this summer...

...but like everything else...I know this phase too will pass...so I try and fight off the tired cranky's and push through with an extra coffee or tea...because in the middle of the night....just knowing that I am enough to calm their world is such a powerful feeling...one that I cherish...because like this summer...it will all go too quick...and there will be plenty of time to rest down the road, but for now, we play on...
