...Memorial Day...

...A day to commemorate the lives of the soldiers who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom...a long weekend to celebrate the freedom we have because of these selfless men and women...and we took the time as a family to spend unlimited time together...which happened to all be on the water...starting with lunch...
...and dinners out in town...
...and infused with some naps on the go...
...and boat pit stops for a rest...
...and site seeing on the Pinta and Nina on their tour through Grafton...

...Memorial Day weekend was much colder than normal for us...and wetter...but that is the theme lately..so we bundled and layered...and weathered the conditions to enjoy time outside...

...and family time included Cousin Natalie and Tony's boys...Lance and Logan...

...Ava and Lance are only six months different in age...and Lance is such a sweet boy that reminds me a ton of my sweet boy...
...and three days on the water led to some interesting conversations about nap time...this one started with, 'ok, I will lay down with you'...and ended with a family nap...
...can you tell Chase is in this pile asleep?  Marley was out for a bit too before her and Daddy snuck out of the boat to let us catch some z's....

...and speaking of Z's...the big concern is getting Chase and Ava to fall asleep together, in the same bed, at the same time...those of you with kiddos sharing a room do this daily but this is a scary proposition in my house...but they were so excited to sleep together, watch Jake and listen to the waves...that three out of three nights ended with this picture on the monitor...
...it makes us never want to leave the river...especially with family and friends coming over to visit...such a break from the real world...

...hope you were able to hug a loved one and celebrate the freedom bestowed to each of us on this holiday...
